For instance, The Darkness sounded like boilerplate back in 2007, and it turned out to be a masterpiece. The tormented hitman Jackie Estacado returns in THE DARKNESS II (February 7; Xbox 360, PS3, PC) for more adventures with his parasitic demon. The decapitations are a gimme; can the sequel plumb the emotional depths of the original?
