EA brought in Robert Duvall, Abe Vigoda, Caan, and even Brando before he died to voice to new bits of dialogue. And the game excels in atmosphere: an expansive open world, à la GTA, lets you travel through the lush streetscapes of Little Italy, Brooklyn, New Jersey, Midtown, and Hell’s Kitchen. There are some nice touches inside as well, like the way the Flamingos’ “I Only Have Eyes for You” drifts in and out of the speakers as you walk through rooms in the brothel. You will suffer from poor camera movement at inopportune times, and some of your enemies fight like Fredo, just standing there with a bat as you take aim with your snubnose. But any fan of the film with even an inkling of gaming history will come away satisfied — and you do get to slap the hell out of the toll-booth attendant.
