Some tweaks turn out to be much more. The inclusion of melee weapons brings a new dimension to fighting the horde — not to mention an outrageous level of gore. New health items, like a defibrillator that brings fallen teammates back from the dead, compel players to make tactical inventory choices. Boycotters needn't have worried: there's so much more going on in the sequel that it in no way feels like a cash-in. If anything, we should organize now to demand Left 4 Dead 3.
