Musical Chairs at One Herald Square

Some changes at One Herald Square where City Hall reporter Kevin Rothstein will soon depart to join former Herald investigative staffer Jon Wells at WFXT-TV (Channel 25). At the same time, cop reporter Michele McPhee has just been moved into City Hall where she will add city reporting to her police portfolio. And transportation reporter Tom Caywood has been sent to the State House to join Kimberly Atkins there.

At least on the bright side, there are no pink slips reported yet. No news is good news I guess for Herald Media these days. A little switch-a-roo doesn't hurt. It is in order. Sorry to post off-topic here, but this is a very important and disturbing story. Mostly about bitterness: http://democrats.com/bill-kellers-marriage Now we have political parties and activists systematically attacking and taking the messenger apart. I thought only FoxNews, the NYPost and Drudge did that, not to mention the Enquirer and the like. I don't care about anything related to the Clintons' marriage or sex life, just because it is neither my business nor anyone else's. I don't care how, when or whehter they lay together. I wish the NYT would stay away from their marriage like a plague. But the fact that we have hacks put out destructive info on the personal life of an editor of a newspaper article they dislike has to be worrisome. I thought the Dems resented the "politics of personal destruction?" The Clintons are big news with a potential major presidential candidate. They are a very newsworthy couple/subject. Whether they are faking unity, with Bill dating other women is a matter a lot of people in the (middle) of the country are going to want to find out, like it or not. So, in comparison, who the heck is Bill Keller to the country? He is not a candidate for president nor for mayor of NYC or anything else. Why the need to splash HIS personal life for petty revenge? What's next? Are they going to reveal who are the sources that actually leaked information to him on other matters or reveal other kinds of sensitive info on him whenever they dislike a newspaper item? This is ridiculous. How about some decency. I hope Dean didn't ok this personally or at least didn't agree with this. Bill Keller wouldn't be the first adulterer in the midst of the many rich and powerful in his circles. This is a crass slippery slope and unwanted behavior for a party dying to regain the nation's respect. They needn't go this low.
