At its best, Radar is all about balance. Yes, it feeds the beast that is celebrity culture. But unlike, say, Vanity Fair, it does so with just the right amount of malice.

At least, that's how it used to be. Nowadays, though, Radar seems to be in real danger of becoming a full-time fanzine for MTV's The Hills. First Hills star Lauren Conrad got the cover treatment. Then came the (worrisomely un-ironic) hiring of Hills star Spencer Pratt as an advice columnist. And then--at about 4:40 pm today--Radar managed to give precisely half of its best Web real-estate to Hills-related content. Could an all-Hills issue be next?!?
