Media Log - New in the Phoenix: Borges reconsidered, Ortega at the Voice, and the Herald's Howie stunt

Saturday, March 10, 2007 10:54:43 AM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
Howie Carr has always protected his turf like a jealous mountain lion. As an up and comer, he took out his mentor and then top cat by continuously referring to his age. Jerry Williams still resented these attacks many years later. (See link:http://www.jerrywilliams.org/article-detail.php?article=6&articlename=Sounding%20off ).

And Carr practically sings with glee each time a rival meets with scandal; recently celebrating on air Rush’s drug problems, O’Reilly’s harassment issues, and Severen’s false credential fiasco. So it’s no wonder he’s coming after Finneran, who matches Howie’s knowledge base and acumen - with guns blazing.

But in this battle, my money’s on the kid from St. Greg’s parish more than holding his own against the bully from Deerfield Academy.
