Today: January 7, 2011

Waxing moon in Aquarius; moon void-of-course 3:51 until 9:57 pm, when it moves into Pisces. Work late? Forget it. Doing things “not by the book” is advised for all, but particularly Aquarius, Libra, Gemini, Aries, Sagittarius, Pisces, and Cancer. If Capricorn, Taurus, Scorpio, Leo, and Virgo are feeling in “free-fall” mode, see if you can swing with it. Imposing order brings no one happiness today.

This week: Moonsigns: March 6-12

“What did the moon ever do for you. That preoccupied globe, nursing her schedule." - Speech to the Self, by Cleopatra Mathis.

Schedules will definitely seem important to all of us this week, with a waxing moon. This week you'll want to say 'yes,' more than 'no,' and explore options versus listening to what people tell you. Experiences can be heightened during this lunar phase, which means exaggeration and finger-pointing becomes a recreational activity for some! Speaking of love, I'm working on a project about how the signs connect. If you have a great relationship, email. If you have a terrible one, ditto.

Thursday, March 6, waxing moon in Taurus, moon void-of-course 8:55 am until 9:37 pm when it moves into Gemini. An all-day VOC moon suggests that plans go FUBAR, so leave options open. However, singing, banking, and buying are excellent activities, particularly for Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn, Cancer, Pisces. Hold off on purchases if you're a Leo, Aquarius ,or Scorpio. Get good advice if you're an Aries, Libra, Gemini or Sagittarius. (Yes, getting good advice means asking people who aren't crazy.)

Friday, March 7, waxing moon in Gemini. Wild claims or surmising could be an enjoyable activity, particularly if you feel your ego is at stake (thanks to the moon and sun at odds with one another). Big talk could amount to a lot for Gemini, Libra, Aquarius, and Cancer. “Stressed for Success” could be the story for Virgo, Pisces, Capricorn, and Sagittarius. Aries, Leo, Taurus, and Scorpio could be in a mood to fritter money on non-renewable stuff.

Saturday, March 8, first quarter moon in Gemini. A turning point for decisions made around March 1, and superb for "random chatter." People will want to discuss things to death if you let them (especially Aries, Gemini, Libra, Leo, Aquarius). However, Sagittarius, Virgo, and Pisces should avoid promises, or thinking they know what people want them to say. Do you know what I mean? No people-pleasing for archers, virgins or fish. Take your chances that people will still like you!

Sunday, March 9, waxing moon in Cancer (moon void-of-course 3:53 am until 9:33 am in Gemini). Cancer moons bring out a domestic urge, so if you're feeling like folks at work are being secretive and defensive, well, they're in tune with the moon. Most of you will want to take cover, but Cancer, Scorpio, Leo, and Pisces may need to hear others' travails. This is your choice, guys! Libra, Aries, Capricorn, and Aquarius: watch that “possessive” urge. Taurus, Gemini, Sagittarius, and Virgo: plant something.

Monday, March 10, waxing moon in Cancer. Start the week with lots of “team-building,” since Cancer moons can be helpful for rallying the troops. They're also excellent for baking, massage, and ceramics. Need a new coffee cup or pillow? Great day for purchases. Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces, and Leo: emotional connections come easily, and others may lean on you. Aries, Cancer, Capricorn, and Aquarius: if you're all over the map emotionally, you're in tune with the moon. Taurus, Gemini, Sagittarius, and Virgo: no need to share everything.

Tuesday, March 11, waxing moon in Cancer, moon void-of-course 3:50 pm until 10:09 pm, when it moves into Leo. An afternoon day void-of-course moon bodes ill for getting all the information. What you hear has been modified. However, it's a fine day for "starting from scratch," and the evening is excellent for impromptu socializing, particularly for Leo, Sagittarius, Aries, Gemini, and Libra. Capricorn, Cancer, Taurus, Scorpio, and Aquarius could be accident-prone.

Wednesday, March 12, waxing moon in Leo. Superb for new sales calls, persuading, working with children, or having your voice heard. Aries, Leo, Sagittarius, Gemini, and Libra will enjoy any sort of bustle, whereas Scorpio, Taurus, and Aquarius may need to disappear for a while (don't push them — fixed signs move at their own pace). Virgo, Pisces, Capricorn, and Cancer need to be amused by those who behave Very Childishly!

About MoonSigns

This horoscope traces the passage of the moon, not the sun. Simply read from day to day to watch the moon’s influence as it moves through the signs of the zodiac.

When the moon is in your sun sign (e.g., you’re a Taurus and the moon is in Taurus), you are beginning a new 28-day emotional cycle. Expect increased insight and emotional responses during this two day period. The moon changes sign approximately every 2.5 days, so it’s influence is intense, but ultimately brief. Now, when the moon is in the sign opposite your sun sign, expect some ups and downs. Here are the oppositions: Aries, Libra. Taurus, Scorpio. Gemini, Sagittarius. Cancer, Capricorn. Leo, Aquarius and Virgo, Pisces.

As the moon between signs, it will sometimes become "void of course," and make no major angles to planets. Consider this a null time and try to avoid decision-making or implementing decisions if you can. It is an excellent period for creativity, unexpected encounters, and quirky outcomes.
