Rogers’s crème brûlée had become legendary among Kennebunk connoisseurs, and they were deeply relieved to see it reappear up the road. It is a terrific version of the classic. With house-made ice creams, sorbets, and plenty of fresh fruit, the dessert list at Mia’s is tempting in warm weather.
So if you head south to the beaches, Mia’s offers a reason to lay off the snacks and work up an appetite in the late afternoon. The frigid water here in Maine lets you put a hot sweaty day behind you instantly. Soak for five minutes and your skin is so numb you can’t feel the grime. Just tell Mike you need a wine that goes with the aftertaste of salt-water in your mouth.
