I'm coming out!

By SARA FAITH ALTERMAN  |  June 3, 2009

Perhaps, though, the biggest and most valuable difference about coming out "then" versus "now" is best explained by O'Connell: the day has passed when the most interesting thing about you is that you're gay. If that's true, then it should be of great comfort to those who want just to get their sexuality out there and move on to more important things. Like Jazz Choir.

Re: I'm coming out!
Honestly, no one cares in you're "In the Closet", "Out of the Closet", or just opening the Door. It's totally 80's, totally boring. You got your wish; being Gay isn't special anymore. It's mainstream, and it's boring.

WTF, Phoenix. EPIC FAIL.
Wow. ONCE AGAIN, YOU HAVE NO FUCKING CLUE WHAT YOU'RE DOING, SARA FAITH ALTERMAN. This is highly clueless, expertly uninformed, lazy journalism that will offend many, many people... gay and straight. If this article were any more irrelevant and poorly executed, it would fold in on itself and swallow the whole of the Earth... which would be AMAZING because it would mean The Phoenix would stop paying you to write anything, Sara Faith Alterman. WTF.

We have a chub for Andy Barker, P.I. (just released out on DVD), because we have a major chub for the show’s star, Andy Richter. Richter plays an accountant who is mistaken for a detective-for-hire and decides to just roll with it.

If only there were some way to watch a con-artist houseboy give his cougar sugar mama a squirming reach-around, charm the pants off a candy-necklace string of countless empty-eyed Hollywood stick figures, lose his heart to an untouchable social chameleon, and, in the process, find himself .

While New York is grittier, Los Angeles juicier, and Boston is wicked smahter, for some odd reason it is Montreal that, for two weeks every summer, becomes the epicenter of the comedy universe.

Warm weather is supposed to be accessorized by lackaday, by a breezy sensibility best enjoyed with a frosty tall boy in one hand, the sloppy product of a back-yard barbecue in the other. Instead, I find myself struggling to balance my beer between my knees and my overstocked paper plate on my thigh as I furiously poke at my BlackBerry.
