Bennington Museum

The museum houses the Bennington Flag (thought to be the oldest stars-and-stripes in existence), the world's largest public collection of Grandma Moses paintings and memorabilia, American paintings and sculpture, and an array of American glass from the 19th and early-20th centuries. Open Thurs through Tues from 10 am to 5 pm. Admission $9, $8 for seniors and students, free for children under 18.

Six galleries host a total of 14 exhibits by well-known artists throughout the year. Open Wed through Mon from 11 am to 5 pm. Galleries closed from Aug 6 through 10, when exhibits are changed. Admission $4, $3 for seniors, $2 for students ages 6 and up.

Vermont's most comprehensive collection of art and anthropology, spanning the history of civilization from early Mesopotamia to contemporary America. Open Tues through Fri from noon to 4 pm, and on Sat and Sun from 1 to 5 pm. Admission $5, $3 for seniors and students, $10 for families, free for children under six.

The world's largest marble exhibit features a sculptor-in-residence, marble jewelry for sale, geological and historical exhibits, marble samples from around the world, a marble relief of American presidents, and a 160-foot mural depicting the earth's composition and geologic history. Open daily from 9 am to 5:30 pm. Admission $7, $5 for seniors, $4 for teens, free for children under 13.
