The festival includes a parade through downtown Portland and a "United We Dance" party at Maine State Pier featuring the 2008 winners of the Gay Internet Radio Live Nationwide DJ Contest. Fourth of July celebrations kick off at 6 am with a blueberry-pancake breakfast and switching over to lobster, mussels, corn, and strawberry shortcake at the Seafood Festival at around 11 am. Catch lobster races in the afternoon. Admission determined according to current lobster prices.

A fun-filled, three-day event recognizing one of America's most unique soft drinks -- the official soft drink of the state of Maine (now produced in Georgia). Festivities include a parade, food, music, a pancake breakfast, chicken barbecue, and a Moxie-drinking contest. A liquid-taste experience unlike any other. Free.

More than 40 hot-air balloons, entertainment, and food on the beautiful Androscoggin River. Balloons launch at 6 am and 6 pm all three days. Balloon rides are $200 per person and can be scheduled in advance. Otherwise, free.
