American Repertory Theatre
Ah, a night at the theeeeeaaatah. Bostonians have an entire Playbill’s worth of theater companies (of both the big-deal and the fringe variety) to choose from, yet it’s the AMERICAN REPERTORY THEATRE that most arouses your thespian sensibilities. Speaking of arousing, the ART’s latest production, “Elections & Erections: A Chronicle of Fear and Fun” was a tour de force of biting satire. Perhaps using “biting” and “erections” in the same sentence is a bad idea. Anyhoo, the ART is committed to producing new works, refreshing the classics, and putting a cleverly off-kilter spin on mainstream theater.
