So now we learn that more than one-third of Massachusetts public-high-school grads have to take remedial classes their first semester at a Massachusetts state college or community college. So, they pass the MCAS in math and English, and then they can't pass the state's own placement exams in math and English. What gives? I suspect I'll have much, much more to say about this later.
