Dianne Wilkerson hasn't gotten much good news lately. But last week, she nabbed the endorsement of Boston's Ward 5 Democratic Committee by a 16-5 margin.

The outcome wasn't entirely bad for Sonia Chang-Diaz, Wilkerson's Democratic opponent: after all, as a neophyte running against an entrenched pol, she got the support of nearly 25 percent of the committee's members. Still, it also highlights just how far Chang-Diaz has to go if she wants to bump off Wilkerson come September.
