Meehan-Poaching Begins

Normal political junkies, upon hearing news of Marty Meehan's departure from Congress, wondered: Who will run for his seat? True, hardcore political junkies wondered: Who will hire his staffers?

Our first winner is Presidential candidate Chris Dodd, who has hired Meehan's press secretary, Bryan DeAngelis, as his New Hampshire press secretary. DeAngelis is a veteran of the John Kerry Presidential and Tom Reilly gubernatorial campaigns.

DeAngelis can now stop fielding questions about what Meehan is planning to do with his $5 million campaign stash, and start fielding calls about what Dodd's first-quarter fundraising total will be.
