Mihos picks his Number Two

The decision's been made, but we won't know until 1 p.m. tomorrow.

Earlier this afternoon, though, Mihos was kind enough to give me a hint as to who s/he is:

"It is someone who has earned it. Earned it in the sense that they've had a multifaceted career, and if anything ever happened to me, I would feel absolutely confident that that person could step in and...could do the job, and would finish the job, and would not ever look to run for anything else, or to leave the Commonwealth."

"Mutifaceted," eh? In that case, it's got to be...

No idea, actually. Any suggestions?

His dog? As I recall, he's getting canine coordinators in every town...

Damn. So, Bob...I take it you think "gadfly" is too generous a term for Mr. Mihos?

I find his campaign intriguing. He is getting pretty good press, is doing great radio, and considering, has pretty good poll numbers. I don't think he really is a gadfly, do you?

BTW Adam, did my post about Gabrieli's deal not working because of the louts at the State House get deleted for some reason or am I just thinking that I posted something clever and didn't ... :-)

http://kerryhealeyoutoftouch.blogspot.com/2006/06/christy-mihos-will-announce-his.html

On KH - OoT, we've noted the following rumored Mihos running mates:

Rumors swirling have included such names as former MA GOP Chairman Jim Rappaport, former U.S. Congressman Peter Blute, Mihos campaign manager Peter Pendergast, Boston Herald columnist Howie Carr, and even newly-retired quarterback Doug Flutie.

The most recent rumor was that sports radio host Ted Sarandis of Winthrop, an announced Independent candidate for Governor's Council, would switch races from Governor's Council to Lieutenant Governor to run with Mihos.

You heard it here first! They’ve reconciled their differences and they’re ready to rock our world. Yup, it’s true the dream ticket is MIHOS/AMORELLO in 2006. Mihos will also announce that due to popular demand, he will now accept contributions from all Big Dig contractors and Pike employees.

Three things

1. Bob sums it up best

2. Does Mihos mean someone competent to replace him or someone who can be a competent governor?

3. I would pay money to see the Mihos/Serandis ticket.

For entertainment value we really should encourage this.
It is probably the most interesting ticket. Have your heard the coverage sports radio gives Ted now? Brian Callahan is a goner. (Perhaps)
Oh the entertainment value with Ted Serandis on the November Ballot. He will definitely get Christy votes. No one else will.

Pleeze
They actually could win. Maybe, doubtful, highly inlikly but ya' never know.

I'll take a fiscally prudent Gadfly over a tax and spend Cult hero any day. The primary job of the Governor is to administer the business of state government. None of the other candidates have shown any abilities in this area. GO CHRISTY!!
