Why Americans hate politics, MA edition

This is bullshit.

And, to answer Dan Kennedy's very apt question: I have no doubt whatsoever that the info came straight from the Kerry Healey campaign.

If anyone tell me why the criminal past of Deval Patrick's brother-in-law is relevant to the governor's race, please do.

In the meantime, shame on Massachusetts if this garbage makes us elect Kerry Healey.

Same goes for the Herald article placing Deval at a David Scondras BBQ with no mention it was before David's arrest.

Kerry Healey's people must feel she has absolutely nothing to offer on her own.

Don't worry, stuff like this will not get Healy elected. Fortunately, this isn't Alabama or some other state where the hypocritically stupid rule the roost. Fortunately we have enough intelligent people in this area to realize that only a canidate with nothing to offer stoops this low, this often. What do we expect, though, not like she can run on her and Mitt's record or on the Republican's recent record in general since it is so god aweful

I think though doth protest too much. This is politics - you do anything to win. And that's what you do. One thing Healey's campaign is doing which is smart is following up every attack ad with another positive ad. It is a very good strategy. It probably won't get her elected - I sense that people are tired of the GOP in the corner office - but it might. I'm surprised though about the biggest potential fear in a Patrick admin: The Democrats complete control of Beacon Hill. It probably won't be much different than what is going on in Congress, just on a smaller scale.

"If anyone tell me (sic)why the criminal past of Deval Patrick's brother-in-law is relevant to the governor's race, please do."

Umm, when it is revealed that Deval Patrick advocated vigorously for the parole of a brutal rapist, even donated $5000 to the rapist and then when confronted, the he at a minimum misleads, at worst lies about it all, it seems pretty relevant to me to point out that jeesh, Deval Patrick is also currently accepting donations from ANOTHER RAPIST who is committing a crime in progress, "Failure to Register as a Sex Offender."

After years of hearing nonsense about Neil Bush's bitter divorce, Noelle Bush's drug problem, the Bush twins underage drinking it is absolutely stunning that Deval's brother-in-law, who was CONVICTED OF RAPE and ignored the strict rules of Megan's Law is suddenly off-limits. You guys are absolutely priceless, keep it coming, you may actually snatch defeat from the jaws of victory yet again!

Peaches

I am reminded of the trial attorney's old maxim: When you have the facts, pound the facts. When you have the law, pound the law. When you have neither, pound the table. I'll take it that since you have resorted to name-calling, you are pounding the table.

Also, has anybody here seen my old feminist friends who were apoplectic when F/X showed a spousal rape scene on "Rescue Me" just a few months ago? And that was make believe!

My, how times have changed. Now, in real-life the rapist is showered in sympathy and the only bad guy is the whistleblower merely trying to get the rapist to comply with the strict requirements of Megan's Law. PRICELESS!

TV-4's award winning analyst Jon Keller nails it today with this sentence, "Instead, Bizarro Deval drew undue attention to a nasty little story about his brother-in-law's criminal history with an understandable-but-useless diatribe against dirty politics."

Patrick ran off all the moderates from his campaign. Now it's the far left mano o mano against the far right.

Maybe Patrick is getting what he deserves?

o-fish-l is one of the reasons I became a Deval supporter. When people like him and the rest of the folks over on HubPolitics are so intent on demonizing you, it's worth checking out why. None of them pass the sniff test.

For fun, try finding a paragraph in an o-fish-l post that doesn't contain a deliberate falsehood, misdirection, character smear, or complete non-sequitor.

Now go over to HubPolitics and do the same thing. My favorite is the Margolis brother's report on Bill Clinton campaigning for Deval: "Accused Rapist To Stump For Deval Patrick In Worcester"

As Adam was saying...

bostonph: "For fun" why don't you point out one of my "deliberate falsehoods" instead of providing us with your condescending instructions. "Try finding a paragraph...Go over to Hub Politics, etc."

No, why don't YOU try finding a paragraph.
