Talking Politics - Second Suffolk hand count starts today

Second Suffolk hand count starts today

The festivities commence at 2 p.m. in Room 801 of Boston City Hall. And the public is free to watch!

Should be an interesting scene, to say the least.

NOTE: I'd initially labeled this a "recount," but it isn't; the big problem is that votes in eight precincts were never counted to begin with. My apologies.

This has happened before in Boston. The tally sheets from many precincts in November 2000 showed zero votes for any ballot issues, causing Galvin to order a full citywide recount.

I posted a Globe article about the 2000 mess at Blue Mass. Group:

Please keep us posted on the recount.
