Romney's anti-gay marriage victory

This is it, folks.

Before today, Romney's pre-presidential boasts about battling gay marriage lacked credibility. All he could say was, I fought gay marriage in Massachusetts...and lost. Now there's a positive outcome to report.

And it's already been cleverly packaged. Quoth Romney, in today's AP story: "'We don't want Massachusetts to become the Las Vegas of same-sex marriage,' he said."

Small victory, though. It's not as if other states would have recognized the marriages anyway. And this "victory" came from the very same SJC who legalized gay marriage to begin with. It won't stop Romney from making a deal of the decision, but I suspect that in two months, no one nationally will even be aware of that 1913 law and its implications.
