Talking Politics - Menino's Weak Pull

Menino's Weak Pull

Tom Menino put himself out with gusto behind Hillary Clinton, but it doesn't look like he's going to deliver the city for her -- with 58% of the city reporting, Obama has a 51%/46% lead. Still worth watching, since the parts of the city reporting or not could make a big difference....

in massachusetts, failure to communicate…is how the obama loss should be viewed. there was no central management of his effort. instead it was all driven by a loose coalition of supporters, kind of like the taliban. the kerry people didn’t talk to the patrick people and there were no kennedy people. this could clearly be seen in the ‘after the polls close’ (or lack there of) gatherings.
in some places there was plenty of signage, stickers, etc. in others, none.
drag, so much for the pedagogy of the oppressed.

The Menino Machine is broken down. He jinxed the Patriots and Hillary in the same week. Stay away from him I'd say. Boston voted for change.

BOSTON RESULTS:

BARACK OBAMA 61322 52.85%
HILLARY CLINTON 51551 44.43%
