New in the Phoenix

In tomorrow's issue, online now, I look at signs that the national Democratic Party may be entering a period of political ascendancy. Check it out: "It Wasn't A Dream: Why the future looks bright for the Democratic Party."

Insightful article, though perhaps a bit overly optimistic. Democrats still can screw it up by re-instituting their tax and spend, protectionist, government hand outs, racial quota policies of yore.

Don't get me wrong. I am delighted the Dems won in November. Senator James Webb is my hero and I hope he runs for president. But there is also a lot not to like about the Democratic Party. If they stick to fiscal conservatism and social liberalism, they should be all set. But I am not so certain....
