\Both BROOKLINE BOOKSMITH and the HARVARD BOOKSTORE consistently rank among readers as best in new and used books. We thought it best to combine the new and used categories this year, because when it comes down to shopping for books, what good is a bookstore that doesn't sell both? What these two little stores have going for them that the big ones don't are things like buttons with hearts on them and plants named Natalie (who, by the way, is due to turn nine this year).
