Palin: damsel in distress--updated!

Apparently Sarah Palin is officially off limits to the press. ABC's Jake Tapper writes:

Rick Davis, campaign manager for Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., just told Fox News Channel's Chris Wallace that McCain running mate Gov. Sarah Palin won't subject herself to any tough questions from reporters "until the point in time when she'll be treated with respect and deference."

There's a remarkable double standard at work here. As I wrote last week, the McCain camp desperately wants to cast Palin as the victim of sexism. But this is the ultimate patronizing attitude to take toward a female politician. If she's capable of being president, she's capable of taking a tough question or two, no?

UPDATE: A DQM reader notes that Politico is reporting Palin will talk to ABC's Charlie Gibson later this week. It'll be interesting to see whether he sexism drumbeat and sequestering of Palin leads Gibson to be extra tough--or, conversely, whether he's extra gentle thanks to his exclusive.

Give her a break! She's just preparing to get ready for the swimsuit segment.

Perhaps if the questions were of a political nature the "McCain camp"  would not be taking this stand. The only questions the Left (the press) want answered are personnel.

Grow up! Nobody likes a sore looser!

I think "personnel" questions are relevant. Don't we need to know who the staff will be?

And usually being "looser" means you'd be less sore. Perhaps Palin is too tight and should stretch more before she talks to the press.

Perhaps she should shred all records documenting her massive malfeasance as mayor and governor, like she tried to ban books from her library.

Man, Gordon, when your reality buffer bubble pops in November, I hope I'm nowhere around.

You got any more Kos-inspired shit to fling?

Thanks for alerting me to the site, sir.  It should fuel me till November...And about my reality buffer, I don't expect it will pop again.  If it does, I'll just read the Bible--that's all YOU'LL be reading too, if not-so-sweet Sarah Barracuda McCain has her way.
