"I physically cannot stop listening to that album," one of our friends responded to a Facebook post about LA ROUX, and that just about sums up what's been happening to our iPods for the the past couple of weeks, as the inbox of new CDs keeps growing higher and higher, and we just keep ignoring it and spinning La Roux over and over and over and over.

DOWNLOAD: Airborne Toxic Event Best Music Poll interview [mp3]
We apologize in advance: the reason you can only stream three songs of Airborne's set has nothing to do with the band's own wishes -- we just hit the "stop" button about a half hour early. Audience recordings? Get at us. But they're three pretty great songs, so you should listen to them -- or listen to them again if you were among the 40,000 people joining us at Best Music Poll 2009 at the beginning of the month.

ThePhoenix.com's Nick Curran (of You Can Be a Wesley) and Addison Post snuck their way into the ICA's "Experiment Redux" on July 31 and managed to scam interviews with Z-Trip and Shepard Fairey, the latter of whom gets grilled on what he'd think if someone stuck, say, a big golden mustache on one of his ICA pieces.

We're only going to say this once: no, those are not snakes, and no, this interview did not take place on a plane. It's just one of those optical illusions.

Tonight at Enormous Room, the former WZBC DJ will be "coming out of hibernation and semi-retirement" as a guest of the city's smartest dance night, the "Beat Research" weekly hosted by DJ Flack and Wayne Marshall.

Photos and review coming soon from last night's BLINK-182 extravaganza. In the meantime, here's the Journey cover everyone's talking about -- we're now averaging about a Journey cover every three days in Boston. And yes, it's really Don't Stop Believing this time.

Youre The One - DamoneDuring the last week of June, a fan of the Boston pop-metal band DAMONE noticed
an unusual number of comments showing up on a video she'd posted to
YouTube. Damone themselves saw a sudden spike in the iTunes sales of
"You're The One," a song from their 2006 album Out Here All Night

Did this man help free Laura Ling and Euna Lee?
Question: Is the New York Times inadvertently (or maybe even purposefully) hinting at a juicy detail in one of the weirdest diplomatic exchanges in recent American history? More to the point, what role, if any, did Bobby Egan -- former FBI informant, freelance unofficial backdoor diplomat, New Jersey BBQ restauranteur -- play in convincing North Korea to release journalists Laura Ling and Euna Lee?
