What's the one homy touch that the Obamas are sure to bring to the White House?
Probably a hope chest — possibly with a glass cover, since I know the president is a fan of transparency.
What's your secret talent?
For about four years I was a semi-professional bear fighter. People always ask me, "What do you mean, semi-professional bear fighter?" To which I respond, "Well, did I get paid to fight bears? Uh, yeah. Did I make a living fighting bears? Not even close."
Who's on your top 10 list of predicted biggest douchebags of 2009?
That band Sigur Rós for starters. And NPR talk-show host Tom Ashbrook has to be on there. I heard he threatened to slap Betty White in the mouth.
You kind of love that Beyoncé song, don't you?
Love it? I like it! That's why I put a ring on it. I'm a huge Beyoncé fan. I once had a drunken jilted lover loudly sing the song "Irreplaceable" at me in front of my entire work holiday party.
What do your fancy pants look like, fancy-pants?
They are as bright as the sun and as soft as a mother's kiss. Dry-clean only.

- 52 ways to leave 2009
Your usual lackadaisical approach to New Year's Eve — just see what happens and go with the flow — is not going to cut it this year. Sure, the end of this decade may not have the same kind of new-millennium pressure riding on it as the last one, but the plunge into 2010 is a milestone nonetheless.

There couldn't be a more promising set-up for a movie than the one in Brillante Mendoza's film: a family-run gay-porno-movie theater.

Boston needs more superheroes. Not because our metropolis is gripped by an unprecedented crime spree, but, says Dave Kender, because our comics are perhaps not muscular enough for their own good.
- Uninformed brilliance
July 29, 9:40 am ET. Acclaimed standup comedian Bill Burr is running late for our scheduled half-hour phone interview, where we plan on talking up his upcoming appearance in Newport, along with any other topic lobbed at the red-headed, "shockingly Caucasian" pride of nearby Canton, Massachusetts.
