Some movies are so bad they’re good — the Evil Dead trilogy comes to mind. Other movies are so bad, they make you want to jam sharp-pronged tools into your eyes. Such is the case with Phillip J. Bartell’s softcore gay romantic comedy, a sequel to his ’05 Eating Out. In the prequel to Sloppy Seconds, a straight dude pretends to be gay and sexual-orientation madcappery ensues. Here — inspiration struck! — a gay dude (played by the admittedly sweet Jim Verraros) pretends to be straight to land the soft-headed, hard-abbed, well-endowed Troy from Troy, Illinois (a chiseled Marco Dapper), who’s not quite sure where he falls on the sexuality spectrum. The only redeemable aspect is the commentary on the right wing’s attempt to de-gayify people; the “Coming In” meetings provide semi-amusing satire. Otherwise, with lines that feel as if they were being read off misspelled cue cards, the whole thing is staggeringly asinine and predictable.
