Downtown at Jerky's it's San Franciscans SLEEPY SUN and ASSEMBLE HEAD IN SUNBURST SOUND, call 401.621.2244 for details. A pair of noteworthy benefit shows on FRIDAY (the 18th): head to Firehouse 13 (401.270.1801) for a Rhode Island Vegan Awareness benefit show starring LOLITA BLACK, ST. JUDE, and Prayers For Atheists frontman JARED PAUL, all for only $8 at the door, and the Blackstone (401.726.2181) hosts the annual Punks For a Princess benefit gig in memory of seven-year old Kaitlyn Ferra, who died last year when her family's SUV was swept away during a flash flood in New Hampshire. The two-day roster includes THE AGENTS, THE JERKTONES, THE MCGUNKS, the excellent CHRIS EVIL & THE TAINTS, and more on Friday, and on SATURDAY (the 19th), BRUNT OF IT, FOR WHAT IT'S WORTH, REFUSE RESIST, and plenty others rock out for a great cause. And MEN OF GREAT COURAGE (led by — who else? — MARK CUTLER) fire it up at the Penalty Box (401.331.8545) on North Main Street. Club Hell hosts Long Island's STEALING JANE with LION OF IDO, HART ATTACK, and Warwick ska troupe LEMON LIME TENNIS SHOES opening on SUNDAY (the 20th), and LA's lauded (Pitchfork-approved!) experi-noise act HEALTH appear with PICTUREPLANE supporting on MONDAY (the 21st); hit myspace.com/clubhelllive for details on both gigs.
