This Kaidoku puzzle is what would happen if a Sudoku and a crossword mated. I know, it’s biologically impossible and probably illegal in some places, but let’s suspend our disbelief for a moment so we can make it through the day, all right? Your job is to fill in the grid with un-capitalized, un-hyphenated words. Ain’t no clues, though —in this puzzle, each of the 26 letters of the alphabet is represented by a number between one and 26. Use letter frequency and patterns in words to figure out what letter is represented by what number. If you need a starting hint, there’s one at the end of these instructions, presented in flowery language so you don’t accidentally see if it you don’t want to. Remember that only un-capitalized, un-hyphenated words are allowed in Kaidoku, so you won’t see anything like STOCKHOLM or LONG-LOST in here. All righty, junior, get to steppin’!
(STARTING HINT, IF YOU WANT IT: the 23rd letter of the alphabet is represented by the number you get when you multiply five and two, then subtract seven.)
