It's almost impossible to avoid feeling some affection for the songs, and it is still possible to find fresh angles in them — The Sopranos proved as much with its use of Journey's "Don't Stop Believing." The same song closes Rock of Ages, but in this case it's only about self-aware nostalgia and comfy familiarity. You can always get that for 10 bucks at a Rock Bottom show, in a real club, with better beer.
