Back in the main concourse, an installation of electronic cords woven into a nest cradles three egg-like LED lights in the corner. This is Jeff Badger's "The Gleaners," which (though its ambient whirring can be distracting) provides an interesting take on the history of its title and the re-usability of modern products. Ethan Hayes-Chute, Hilary Irons, and Kim Keever, while in radically different media, each show impressive works in miniature or magnified scales. It's Bank, however, who steals the show. Her four mounted "Wallflower" pieces explore the nipples and holes of the human corpus in epoxy and milled fiber, while "Fruit Bat," a mixed-media diorama hanging like a piñata from the center of the gallery, offers an immersive and personal exploration of mythology and feminine sexuality (and an unforgettable appropriation of Dan Rather's mouth). With much more than can be mentioned here, consider "Space Invaders" a must-accept invitation to one of Portland's finest galleries.
