The self-described "Bad Boys of Abridgement" have had their way with the Bard and the Bible, among other things. The commercialization and secularization of Christmas are perhaps too obvious of targets; certainly this crazy quilt is threadbare in places. But there are good patches, among them a "Christmas panto" of the Nativity that features the Bee Gees as the Wise Men. Among the acts that don't materialize is a marionette troupe performing Pinocchio's Christmas in Whales. If you think that's funny, you're a better audience for the RSC shenanigans than if you don't.
