>> REVIEW: Pina by Ann Lewinson<<
I stopped going to see Bausch's work in the mid-'80s. People told me she got more lighthearted, but I'd had enough of her desire and terror, her seductions and cruelty. The film Pina ends with her signature chorus line: 20 or 30 men and women prancing along the rim of a crater, coyly gesturing and smiling in unison, soliciting your love, and shrugging it off as they parade into the distance.
