Center of Me Circling You is danced with quiet intensity by Shaw, to Gershwin's music and Meunier's movement. Each slow reaching out and circling of arms comes back to a crouch or breath-catching, shoulder-rounding abdominal clenches. Even the lovely arabesques or jetés are done with bent knee, so the body remains a crescent before the arms round again and enfold her knees on the floor.
Company member Alexandra Rose has set a piece on the nine dancers in Fusionworks II, an homage to her soldier brother, No Enemy, but Peace. With militaristic stances and the recitation of "The Rifleman's Creed," this is a solid reminder of those still in harm's way.
