And the couple hasn't given up on having another food trailer in Portland. Until they can figure out how to navigate the city's ordinances, they will continue to tow their trailer to Fort Williams every morning and out every night, through the end of October. "We're cell mates for the summer," says Karl, giving his wife a squeeze and a smile, as they look over at their six-by-ten-foot aluminum box shining in the summer sun.
