Now that the pick-up community is thriving on the West End soil, it’s branching out.
The farm has created a scholarship program and takes donations from shareholders when they sign up for CSA to pay for shares for low-income families. The farm has set aside several shares for low-income applicants, and the shareholders work together to pay for others to enjoy the organic goodness and gatherings.
“We’ve created a community of support around the farm here in the West End,” Eder says, “and we’re making friends and having a grand old time of it.” ^
