GIFTS FOR THE 99%

ETSY BEARD-HAT | $46-$55 |etsy.com/shop/taraduff | We're going out on a limb here and assuming those males focusing on the bottom half of this list are not afraid to let the chin scruff grow out into a full-throttle Norris-ian beard. But no matter. There's just something simple and enjoyable about the thought of sporting this 100-percent-acrylic-yarn (that means it's easy to care for), hand-crocheted-in-Utah winter hat - and just-as-hand-crocheted co-joined beard - down the mountain during a full day at Sunday River. Sure, you may have a faint look of a skiing jihadist while doing double back flips in the freestyle parks, but who cares? At right around $50, it's worth it, both for your pocket and your facial-warmth. Bonus: this could double as a disguise and partial pepper-spray protection during your next Occupy march. UC-Davis kiddies, take note.

You can’t turn around these days and not hear of someone from the one percent telling a 99-percenter to go take a shower and get a job. And as much as we take sides on the matter, today we’re putting aside our differences (more or less) to present both factions a quick gift guide for the 2011-’12 ski season.
