The Boston-Area Recreational Tree Climbers are exactly what they say they are: a club that climbs trees with ropes and harnesses. “We climb for fun,” reads their mission statement, “for exercise, to renew our spirits, and to deepen our knowledge and respect for trees and nature.” Pick an afternoon and join them. Once you’re up there, commune with those fluttering leaves, sucking in your CO2 and pumping out oxygen for us, and thank them for reducing your clown-shoe-size carbon footprint.
