'DREAM'ERS Sienna.

SIENNA (reverbnation.com/siennarock): Providence-based five-piece led by the big pipes of Viana Newton, with a style reminiscent to 2008 Rock Hunt champs It Was the Best of Times (hopefully Sienna plan to stick around a little longer), a sound the 'BRU faithful may be more accustomed to than some of their competitors here. Their first single, "Dream," has received some airplay locally.

BAD BROMANCE (badbromance.com): Acoustic duo from Cumberland up citing Sufjan Stevens, CCR, and Neutral Milk Hotel as vital influences. Upon hearing of their Rock Hunt nomination, they added a bassist and drummer for their live set. First single "No Way No Way" is a nice start.

QUIRKY QUARTET Last One Out.

LAST ONE OUT (lastoneoutmusic.com): College boys just wanna have fun: this quirky quartet have come a long way since sending me their debut demo Whammy last year. The follow-up, Double Whammy, boasts the FM-ready, piano-heavy "Way Too Cold," plus the upbeat cuts "Life Shark" and "Lovin' Tonight." Last One Out singer Jeff Gahan checked in from Florida, where the band was soaking up their last spring break before graduation in May.

"We entered this contest with the hopes of pursuing our musical career rather than joining the workforce," he said. "We hope to take our music as far as we possibly can because it has been the only thing our lives that has made sense thus far."

Come back next week for the lowdown on the other six semi-finalists.
