YOU'RE A BARTENDER AT TRINITY BREWHOUSE — WHAT IS IT WITH THAT PLACE HARBORING BADASS ROCK/PUNK DUDES OVER THE YEARS (E.G., SEAN LARKIN, AND RICH GACCIONE OF REGGIE & THE FULL EFFECT/MOUTH OF FLOWERS)? Trinity definitely has a history with rock music. What with owner Josh Miller's ties to the original Met Cafe, he is always supportive and understanding when us rock guys have to leave for months at a time. And staff-wise, it's a home for some very opinionated music geeks.

HOW ARE SONG STRUCTURES DEVELOPED? LET THE TAPE RUN AND JAM OUT OR PRECISELY CONFIGURED BEFOREHAND? We have no idea what we are doing, which I think ultimately guides where things go. I have always had an obsession with mood and environment when trying to direct a song structure. A lot of the first record was written by Daryl and me before we had a solid lineup in place, so we will see where this next batch goes.

WHAT'S NEXT? Our main plans right now are to continue recording as much as we can, and playing out when possible. We all have things going on that are keeping us grounded for the moment, so extensive touring isn't an option. Mike just recently adopted a rad little girl and is currently harvesting their second child! And I personally couldn't handle being away from my cat Doug for more than a few days at a time.

The new EP by PVD trio Gertrude Atherton, Isle of Lost Skulls , is a gnarled beauty of a debut and proves to be well worth the wait. I have been eagerly anticipating this record since catching drummer Melanie Fuest, singer/guitarist Shannon Le Corre, and bassist Nicole Lagace in action a dozen or so times over the past year.
