"I've always been of the mind to kind of create not of the moment, which has always kept me right out of the spotlight unfortunately," he says. "We do use delay and reverb, but in specific kind of ways, whereas opposed to a lot of indie rock you'd hear on Sirius XMU or whatever [that has] a bathed-in-reverb lightness. I think we naturally tend to stay away from that which is completely of the moment just to not date ourselves. I do think all my records will stand out 20 years from now because they were not of a time period."
