"The thing in general that interested me about Kate Bush is that it's its own universe. Her music has a lot of mystery in every aspect — the chord progressions, the strange meter changes, the bizarre song forms and lyrics. She deals with Irish and Scottish myths and all kinds of different storylines that reference literature and art and movies, strange references all over the place. And her music doesn't lean on the American blues or pop tradition. It's its own thing."
