Few groups truly embody the essence of such heady titles as "punk/hardcore," "psych/experimental," "best local act," "best local live act," and "best female vocalist" — let alone all five — but Exusamwa do it with gusto. They're one of those bands that could steamroll the competition in almost any category if only more people knew what was really up with Boston's explosive underground music scene. Here's hoping they get there someday.
