Sounds of early summer

STARTING OVER Scare Don't Fear.

The last one up is the brand-new EP from local metal-core-rap-screamo quintet Scare Don’t Fear; Destroy | Rebuild is the follow-up to the2010 debut EP Blinded. The bloodcurdling screams and rapid-fire raps from vocalists Frankie Sbacchis and Chris Jungles focus on the “destruction of corruption in the US government and the rebuilding of society.” And according to Sbacchis, the title also reflects a tumultuous few years for the band internally: “We’ve been locked in our studio for the past eight months writing this record. We named this EP Destroy | Rebuild because that’s literally what we had to do to our band in order to make it to this point.” There are some hints of electronica here and there (“DTM,” “Dominate”) and guitarist Joe Auger shreds away on “Sharks In the Water.” SDF’s CD release show should be a wild affair at Simon’s 677 come Saturday.
