United wussies of America

By PHILLIPE AND JORGE  |  December 29, 2010

We'd also like to add a hearty, "well done" to the wonderful Karen Adams, who is leaving WPRI in much better shape than when she arrived. A total pro and as good as it gets in terms of "news personalities," Karen has been one of the most generous cheerleaders and fundraisers for scores of Vo Dilun non-profits and charities. Who knows how many millions she's raised for worthy causes?

Finally, the Casa Diablo journalist of the year was our short duration savior Matt Taibbi of Rolling Stone, who has locked in on the Wall Street meltdown and is naming names and pointing the fingers at the truly guilty, from Goldman to Geithner. He goes where no one else dares in corporate media, lest they lose their jobs and invites to Washington dinners or Baba Wawa parties. That means you'll never see Taibbi on Meet the Press or the like with the usual assortment of self-satisfied twits. Keep it coming, sir.

Meanwhile, Phillipe and Jorge both swagger and reel into their 32nd year of the Cool, Cool World in 2011, walking canes polished and filled to the brim with Johnny Walker Blue. We continue to let you, our beloved readers, know whose what is where, when and how in The Biggest Little. As the famed wise man Bob Kerr once said, "P&J give you more of the truth and less of the facts." You betcha.

Send a blank slate and Pulitzer-grade tips to p&j@phx.com.

It was only fitting that when the New England Patriots signed professional God-botherer Tim Tebow on Tuesday, they let go of back-up quarterback Mike Kafka. Tebow’s coming to the Pats was indeed a disorienting metamorphosis moment that old Franz K. and Gregor Samsa would have recognized.
