YOUR HUMBLE SERVANTS

As 2011 ends, Phillipe and Jorge would like to thank of all of our readers (who are primarily our relatives and those who thought the column was part of the Phoenix's adult section) for your support, and in many cases loyalty, through what in 2012 will be the 33rd year of the Cool, Cool World.

Most importantly, undying appreciation and gratitude to our editors, David Scharfenberg and Lou Papineau, who put up with two neurotics who make the members of any Real Housewives troupe look like sane, well-adjusted, stable members of society. Thirty-three years is the going record for any newspaper column in the Biggest Little, and we are proud of that achievement.

And let's not forget about the rest of the crew over on Chestnut Street. Steve Brown, our Dear Leader, may eschew the zany hairdo that is de rigueur for North Korean dictators, but he actually is beloved by the whole staff at Phoenix Central and totally irreplaceable.

And then there is the glorious Anita who knows all and sees all and the ad sales people who keep the pump primed so we can churn out our weekly "thoughts." A special tip of the sombrero to advertising ace Bruce Allen, who has been around the Phoenix as long as we have.

All these people are such pros that they could do their jobs in their sleep — and frequently do. The Providence Phoenix is a family and we are honored to be the black sheep.

Send auld lang syne and Pulitzer-grade tips to  p&j@phx.com.
