While there are limits to free speech, those limits cannot be simply our own personal preferences, because everyone's preferences differ, and eventually those who dislike our words may be in power to suppress them. So we all need to back away from that weapon of mass silencing destruction. Trust me, as a Black woman the very idea of someone dropping an n-bomb, for example, makes me stabby. However, it's often the people who don't say what they really think who can do us even greater harm.
Let them talk.
Then we know whom to watch out for.
