Courtland was a large and gentle man and you can be sure that his very calming presence averted many potential tragedies. Jorge knew Courtland primarily as a neighbor who was forever walking his dog around the neighborhood in the Edgewood section of Cranston.
He was also a member of the Narragansett tribe and a longtime news reader at In-Sight, the Warwick non-profit that runs the state's primary radio reading service for people who are blind or visually impaired. Courtland McPherson was a wonderful man and Jorge will miss his mischievous sense of humor and his friendship.
AND, DON'T FORGET . . .
On October 28, Dr. Oldie presents the Original Southern New England Rock & Roll Collectors Convention at the Clarion Inn (formerly the Ramada Inn) at 940 Fall River Avenue (Route 114A) in Seekonk, MA, from 10 am to 3 pm. There's plenty of free parking and admission is only two bucks. And when you're there, wish Dr. Oldie a happy birthday. He's turning the big seven-o in a couple of weeks.
