Paz needs help
No more excuses. We have, on numerous occasions, stood up for boxing champion Vinny Paz when he’s stepped in it. Not that there is anything insignificant or harmless about accusations that one has operated a motor vehicle under the influence.
This week it was alleged that Paz assaulted a woman who is described as his girlfriend. Taken all together, the number and seriousness of these various incidents lead P&J to tell our friend, please, get help and do not delay. Regardless of the cause, Vinny needs to right his personal ship of state with the same commitment and intensity that has distinguished his boxing career.
P&J have been greatly inspired by Vinny’s many acts of courage, in and out of the ring. Domestic assault, however, remains absolutely unacceptable behavior. So far, there has only been an accusation, but that is enough to give your superior correspondents pause.
