THE OFFICE | NBC | September 22 @ 9 pm | Obviously, The Office isn't new; it's entering its eighth season. But — unlike the switch from Charlie Sheen to Ashton Kutcher on Two and a Half Men — James Spader replacing Steve Carell in Scranton might mean that it will feel new. Spader is clearly not Carell, and his very different style might provide the show with energy and tension that haven't been present in a while, and that might reinvigorate the stale veterans creatively. But unless Spader's also replacing John Krasinski, Rainn Wilson, Ed Helms, and Jenna Fischer, that doesn't seem too likely.
