THE CONCUSSION CONTROVERSY WILL GET WORSE BEFORE IT GETS BETTER. First football, then hockey — even soccer has drawn concerns over the dangers of head trauma. The biggest problem is what we still don't know. If the side effects of concussions already seen in the pros can be traced back to high school or youth sports, the impact could mean a seismic change in how these games are played.
Damn. That's still a lot of bad news, even if we leave out the child rape. (And, please, let's leave out the child rape in 2012.) Luckily, we've saved the best prediction for last, as THE BRUINS WILL REPEAT AS STANLEY CUP CHAMPIONS. Boston is a hockey town once again. The Bruins shook off their ever-so-brief Cup hangover and are cruising, and the team's long-downtrodden fans are raising their puckheads high.
